Water Damage – Northampton Home

Water damage at this Northampton home occurred when a pipe within the walls of the pictured closet burst. The water soaked closet is shown in the before photo. SERVPRO of Hampshire County was called in to clean up the water. We first located the source of the water damage and repaired the damage. We moved the contents of the closet to a dry area and then used a high-tech moisture detection device to determine if the subfloor had been saturated. We discovered it had also been soaked, so we removed the carpeting and padding to allow us to dry the subfloor properly. We also removed sections of drywall to allow us to dry and treat the area between the walls. Once all the affected areas had been dried, we put down new carpeting and moved the contents back into the closet.
