Are YOU Ready Hampshire County? Water Damage / Fire Damage Cleanup
As Disaster Preparedness Month and Fire Prevention Month come to an end, along with Daylight Savings Time (insert sad emoticon here), it’s time to re-focus our mindset on “being ready” for anything that may interrupt our normal course of life. Whether it’s business or personal, a “disaster” can rock your world off of its axis at any time. How will you react? The longer it takes to rebound from a disaster and to get lined up to recover, the less apt that you are to FULLY recover and recoup ALL of your losses.
Imagine for a moment, all of your possessions burnt to a crisp melted to a heap. We have recently dealt with two separate garage fires and an office fire in which there was very little left that could be sifted through to decipher what was in that affected area. I have attached a couple of pictures, true to life pictures, of what a burnt garage looks like. See how many items you can pick out in them.
As we turn the clocks BACK this weekend –
- change the batteries in and test your smoke and CO detectors.
- walk through your house or business, take pictures of each room noting items and valuables in each room/area or walk through video recording your property. Ensure that the video is on the cloud or not stored on the premises. In the event of a fire or water damage, you will have what you need to file a claim QUICKLY, ACCURATELY AND COMPLETELY.
- Take a moment to download the SERVPRO READY APP from your APP STORE and simply follow the instructions to note things about your property to again, get it all back together as quickly and painlessly as possible.
With the heating and holiday seasons approaching, there is an increased level of danger in the home from mechanical or human failure. BE READY, if you don’t ever need to use what you have prepared!
Taking these few steps, and/or by calling SERVPRO of Hampshire County for assistance, whether with a Disaster Readiness Plan or with a Fire Damage or Water Damage Cleanup, you can more quickly make it “Like it never even happened”.
